Johnson City Farmers Market, Frontier Health Hosts Kid Power Family Event Saturday | WJHL
JOHNSON CITY, Tennessee (WJHL) – While parents had the opportunity to pick up local produce, the kids were able to have fun at the free Johnson City Farmers Market event on Saturday.
Kid Power was an event held in May – Mental Health Awareness Month – and targeted children who were feeling isolated during the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Frontier Health has partnered with the Farmers’ Market to host the festivities.
Layla Wright, care coordinator at Frontier Health, said the event served to promote healthy lifestyles and make children smile.
âComing out of COVID and the pandemic, we know that everyone is probably in need of mental health resources, but especially children, and we are just thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the farmer’s market. and encourage healthy eating and exercise, âWright mentioned.
The event featured over 20 interactive educational kiosks, music, dance, open mic, art, yoga, karate and more.
