Covid-19: Maharashtra government to consider post-Diwali relaxations, says Health Minister Rajesh Tope | Bombay News

MUMBAI: Maharashtra’s Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Sunday that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray along with the Department of Health and the task force will make a decision on easing restrictions on Covid-19 in the ‘State after Diwali.
Rajesh Tope said: “After Diwali, based on positive cases of Covid in the state, CM Uddhav Thackeray along with the health department and task force will make the decision to further relax the restrictions on Covid-19 . ”
Meanwhile, Maharashtra has reported 1,715 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. The total number of active cases in the state stands at 28,631, according to the state’s health bulletin.
Mumbai recorded zero deaths from Covid-19 on Sunday for the first time since the pandemic began in March last year.
“Mumbai has not recorded any Covid deaths after March 26, 2020. This is great news for all of us in Mumbai. I salute the MCGM (Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai) team for their spectacular performance,” IS Chahal, commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) mentioned.
“Let’s all keep the mask on our face and let every citizen of Mumbai get vaccinated if some of us haven’t already! I call on everyone to help us keep Mumbai safe,” a- he added.
Maharashtra’s Environment Minister and Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Aaditya Thackeray also took to Twitter to share the “good news”.
“The good news: Mumbai has recorded no deaths from Covid today, for the first time since March 26, 2020. Keep the mask on your face and get vaccinated if you haven’t already! us to keep Mumbai safe, we are here to serve you! ” he tweeted.
As many as 367 new cases of Covid-19 were reported today, bringing the number of active cases in the city to 5,030, according to the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the metropolis is 7,50,808 while the death toll from the viral disease stands at 16,180. The recovery rate from Covid in Mumbai has reached 97% while the doubling rate is 1214 days.
